Magazine advert analysis- Fall out boy.
Information.
This advertisement for Fall Out Boys 5th album has a lot of information on it which tells the audience exactly what they need to know about the upcoming album.
The date, name and song titles are all displayed on the advertisement so it is clear to the audience what is being produced and who by.
Imagery.
The picture which is shown on the magazine ad is not realistic but it holds a certain meaning which tells the audience about the mood of the album. The skeletons represent coldness, death and lifelessness which hold negative connotations which are most likely shown through the songs that they have produced. However, the intimacy of the skeletons links to love and maybe whilst they were humans they had a relationship with one another which has now died with them, therefore the music could relate to a broken relationship which is beyond being fixed.
Colour.
The colours which are used are extremely dull, browns, black and blues are all very dark which also relate to the negative connotations behind the album. The fact that the information is displayed in white writing really stands out to the audience against the extremely dark advertisement.
