Imagery.
This magazine advertisement for one of Coldplay's upcoming albums is very minimalistic but also extremely eye catching.
The fact that the band are shown at the top of the advertisement and the title/band name is at the bottom is fairly unique as other ads use the opposite order to display the context.
This makes the image stand out the audience and especially because it's of the actual band it's important that they know who they are. The audience firstly see's the artists and then reads about who they are and what they have produced which makes them want to know more about their album.
Lighting.
The lighting in the background is high key which emphasises the band as they are lit up by it. This makes them stand out even more because of the dark background, the black and grey colour adds to the bleak atmosphere of the album and the bands image.
Fonts and information.
The album cover is also pictured at the bottom of the advertisement so the audience knows what they are looking for when they go to buy it and also they are more inclined to recognise the album and relate it to the advertisement.
The font and colour of the writing is simplistic but effective, it is clear to the audience what their album is called and when it is being released. The contrast between the black floor at the front and white at the back is almost showing to the audience the two sides behind the band, angelic but also devilish.
